Velcade (along with Doxil) gave Vern a 2 year remission. He went back on it in 2009 when the beast returned, but is doing it just once a week instead of normal protocol - and it brought his numbers down. Is on hold during these 8 weeks of heavy antibiotics; hoping numbers will hold steady until he can get back on it. I do understand the concern about QOL ... it's such a difficult decision.
