This is lovely, Susie, as always. Moving to the desert took away the colors of Autumn from me, which I so loved growing up in Michigan. Your poem and photos bring those wonderful memories back: the beautiful reds and golds and piles of leaves to jump into.

As to the passage of time … you and I share the joy that our dear husbands are still with us, although battle-worn from this horrible MM, but we also share the fear of the clock ticking the remaining time we have with them. Your poems are a true blessing to me, dear lady.

We need those distractions you wrote of – even if they only last for a season. What a beautiful analogy. Hopefully, that horizon is further away then you think. Like John, I too liked the same line – it portrays quite a provocative image! You are so very clever. I just want you to know that I am a freind of Lori Puente’s and I read your blog as my husband has multiple myeloma too. What a dreadful cancer but we are getting through it. Love your poems.
