Thank you so much Joan for your lovely comment. I think I sound a tad nervous to start ( rather a large audience the BBC!) but it gets better further on, when I get in my stride a bit.

Susie, What an inspiring interview. I now have a voice with the face and both are very lovely. I cried listening to you. My heart hurt for you and Hamada knowing what you are going through. I pray that doctors will find the right drugs and/or procedures to put him back into remission. I pray that both of you will find peace and comfort and joy in every day you are blessed with. With God all things are possible. Through your poems you give such great hope, such peace, and so much love to those suffering with myeloma, their caretakers and their families. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful poetry.

Susie – As you know I’m relatively new to the Myeloma community, so, it is with great admiration and appreciation that I listened to your interview with Judy Theobald on BBC Radio. Because Multiple Myeloma is a relatively newcomer to the cancer world and accounts for only 1% of all cancers, education is key and primary for our overall survival. Susie I meant to tell you what a great job you did on the BBC Interview. I hope you get to go again. It was wonderful hearing your true feelings on what a caregiver goes through, so many emotions. People always focus on the sick person and sometimes forget the caregiver is suffering just as badly with their hands tied behind them. I have so much compassion for anyone who is walking beside a loved one with a chronic illness. Please know that you and Hamada are in my prayers always .

I finally had an opportunity to listen to the interview, Susie. Absolutely amazing.

And I’ve told you this before, but I’ll say it again: you and Hamada are heroes. Hamada because he is living with this day after day, and you because you are there for him in such a special way.

Dearest Susie,
With tears in my eyes as I listen to you read your beautiful poem, I Write For You, I am so struck by God’s Calm that shines through you. I know you, both, are cradled in His arms and this is the best place find peace. It was incredible hearing your words in your own voice. Being a hopeless romantic, I could only envision the poets’ voice, yet now I know you sound exactly as I thought. May God continue to bring you comfort through His Gift of Loving Poetry. I must say, “Hamada is so blessed to have you!”

To hear your voice, Susie, and the reading of that special poem “I write for you,” was a remarkable way to start my day with a cup of Earl Grey. No matter what disagreeable events the world shoves in our faces, there is always the strength of love to carry us through, if we let it.
